One Month Old

It's hard to believe that Annika has been in our life for a month already. We are thankful for every day and can't imagine life without her.

Growing

Annika is still a skinny little peanut, but we know she's growing because she's starting to fit into some new clothes including another one of Nanna Peckenpaugh's knit masterpieces. She looks adorable (despite her misfortunes with baby acne)

Visitors!

Last weekend we had some great friends come to visit. It was wonderful seeing you Cindee, Britta and Dane!

A Place to Nap

Last week my mom brought up the cradle my Grandpa Wilson made for my sister Becca. It is beautiful and the perfect place for Annika's afternoon naps. A quilt that my Grandma Peckenpaugh made and a blanket that my mom knit make it nice and cozy. It is so special to have heirlooms that can be passed down from generation to generation. Thank you Grandpa and Grandma and Mom!

First Bath

Last night Annika graduated from sponge baths to a "real bath." Despite her dislike of being naked, she did a great job.

Happy Birthday Grandpa Johnson

On Sunday we had our first outing to the Johnson's to celebrate Dick's 60th birthday. It was fun to get out of the house and spend the day with friends and family. We had a lot of fun, even if Grandpa wasn't too thrilled about reaching the big 60.

Annika's First Week

Last night at a 4am feeding we celebrated Annika's first week. Though it has only been a few short days, it's hard to imagine life without her. Here are some highlights from our first week:
  • Close friends coming to visit
  • Our first doctors appointment
  • Wonderful (and much appreciated) help from both Grandmas
  • Our first walk on an unseasonably warm & sunny day
  • Laughing at Annika's silly faces
  • The first (of what we assume will be many) exploded diapers
We continue to thank God for blessing us with such a wonderful little girl
