Happy Easter
He is Risen...
We cherished the opportunity to spend Easter day in Michigan at my parent's cottage. It was a special day to celebrate Christ's resurrection and give thanks for his amazing grace. The day was the perfect finale to our spring break...a fantastic church service, time with family, wonderful meals, an ever-exciting game of "Hand and Foot" and some much needed naps.
A Stop In Ohio
Our spring break travel plans worked out so that we could stop in Ohio on our way home to see my grandma and grandpa Wilson. Though there were some hiccups in getting there (involving 2 new tires in Charleston, WV) it was a wonderful treat to spend the afternoon having Easter dinner, walking through the woods and introducing Annika to her great grandparents. We only wished that our visit could have been longer.
A Fun Week in Charlotte

We had a blast spending spring break in Charlotte, NC with the Johnson clan. It was so special to get to see Annika with her Aunt Jody, Uncle Rick and Aunt Julie. It makes us sad that we don't all live closer. Here are some highlights from the week as well as a few photos:- Annika's First Boat Ride
- Cribbage tourney...I beat Branden and almost beat Dick
- My First Post-Pregnancy Jog (Let's just say I'm a bit out of shape)
- Watching Annika's Aunts Make Her Laugh
- Outings to The Mall, Restaurants, Bowling Alley. (I'm much more confident carting Annika around after this week)
- Learning The Best Way to Swaddle

Spring Break
Last Saturday we left for Charlotte, NC for Branden's spring break. It is amazing how one new addition to the family requires so much stuff. Our car was packed to the brim, but we managed to make everything fit. After this packing experience Branden has started talking about needing to get a bigger car
We weren't sure how 12 hours in the car with a 5 week old would go, but Annika slept almost the entire way. We couldn't have asked for a smoother trip.
We are currently enjoying warm weather in Charlotte and Annika is having fun meeting Aunt Jody, Uncle Rick and Aunt Julie. It is so fun to have the whole Johnson family together.

A Visit to Naperville
Last weekend we took our first roadtrip to Naperville to visit my parents, celebrate my mom's birthday and show Annika off to some family and friends. It was wonderful to catch up with friends we don't see often enough and to introduce Annika to one of her sets of Great-Grandparents. She even attended her first church service, but decided to be awake and cranky for the majority of it. I guess that's why they have a nursery! Thank you to everyone who took the time to stop by. Next time we'll have to stay a little longer so we can see even more of our friends.
